I need a couple more sets of Sony MDR V900 cans. I love these things for cue
mixes (as
does everyone who comes in here and straps them on) After sony discontinued
making them I bought a pair for $136.00 including shipping last January from
B & H. B & H now is charging $198.00 plus shipping for these and that's the
cheapest I've been able to find. I knew I should have bought a few of these
sets when I had the chance to get them at this price..

**** me!

Or you could switch to Sony MDR 7506.
A bit less plastic (and more rugged), much
more industry standard, etc.

Well, I may just pick up a couple. I've gotta' have the little vinyl
carrying bags that go with these so I can use them to bag mics when I'm lazy
or fried from continuously overdubbing unrehearsed musicians and don't want
to tear down after tracking sessions because I know they'll be back
tomorrow..

actually so I'm out there scouring the netherlands of cyberspace at the

Yep. I lurk a lot. I was hoping that someone here might pop up and say "hey
man....I've got a gross of these in my warehouse....they're yours if you'll
pay shipping"....you know, sorta' like they used to throw away those crappy
LA-2A's when the 1176's first came out.

Thanks Arny. I've still got my invoice from B & H. I'm going to give them a
call and see if I can get them to cut me some slack and give me the *old
price*. Never hurts to ask. I've spent a few bucks there over the years so
who knows?

IIRC, you're in Durango. If it'll help, we can swap shops, I'll move there &
you can move to Tucson. I'll even throw in a set of 7506s. Pretty Please?

Are you from Durango Mike? You should see it right now. snow up above 10k '
and the leaves are psychedelic. We drove over to Ouray last weekend. I
haven't seen it like this in a long time. We've been getting lots of
moisture since July. the "old timers' around here are predicting some major
snowfalls. I was over in Pagosa about a month ago and it was snowing a
little.

If you're ever up this way, let me know

Not from there, but have been thru there several times in recent summers -
would love to move to the area, but I can't afford Ouray. (If you hear of
any deals...) I have a friend who makes mandolins near Dolores/Cortez (San
Juan Mandolins). I'll probably go to the Telluride fest next year, and will
continue looking for land in Colo. - I'll take you up on that offer.

I was just reminding you how lucky I think you are - Sony 900s or not! It's
been wet for Tucson this year, too (raining right now) - maybe the drought
is over.

And if you're ever down this way, the offer is mutual. March is great, and
the Rockies, White Sox, and Diamondbacks all have spring training here... no
earthquakes, hurricanes or tornadoes (unless you count the dust devils), few
mosquitoes, & I don't have to shovel snow, cut grass, or change my clock...
but I'd still rather be in Ouray.

Dolores is really beautiful. A lot like durang was about 30 years ago.
That's changing fast though. Land prices are skyrocketing as the
Californians and Texans build more and more *vacation homes*. I got here in
2000 and the median price of a 2BR frame house has gone from around $175k to
$350++k. The locals are having to move to the boonies or live in
manufactured housing in (decreasingly available) trailer parks in order to
afford to live in Durango.
