Default True Solo Preamp

anyone tried one? What's it sound like? I read a review somewhere
recently (but i dont' remember where) that honestly compared it to one
channel of a millennia hv3. At it's price point it seems possible. I
use the millennia here at home and it's my favorite preamp, but
sometimes i travel to record and a small non rack unit like the true
would be handy if it had the sound i was used to. I already travel
with my schoeps so having my own mic and pre would mean my the
recordings of my guitar would be very consistent from studio to
studio.n

I started thinking about this because my most reecent record was
recorded on an old mci console into a radar system. I loved the studio
but i didn't like the sound of the console. I had some punch ins to do
when i got the files home and the millennia next to the mci was a world
of difference. So i wannt to start carrying my own pre. What's the
word?

Have you tried the Millennia TD-1? Might be exactly right for this.
