It implies that you find normal to compare the behaviour of a tyran's army with the behaviour of the first democratic army of the world, i.e U.S. army. Are you sure that you really want to look for such ignoble similitudes ? None of these unpleasantries were surprising to me. Whenever a group of human beings is given essentially absolute power over another group of human beings, this sort of thing tends to happen. The way to prevent it is training, training, training, and command control. What IS surprising is the lack of control over the MPs. Also there seems to have been little or no reason for most of the inmates to be imprisoned in the first place; they were "awaiting disposition." Norm Strong |
