Hello!
What program can convert Real Audio and wma files to mp3 and adaptively normalize volume in a batch? I mean a normalization which amplifies low sounds more that loud by adaptive normalization. Best regards, Dima +7 9163876746 +7 9035093892 |

The adaptively means higher amplifying for low sounds and lower amplifying loud sounds in an audio. ![]() wrote in message ups.com... Good that you David Morgan (MAMS) know now what adaptive normalization is! You can read about it on dbpoweramp site. I think you're correct in this case... it means that I won't be *screwing up* any of my (or my client's) music. I've also never heard of dbpoweramp... but please realize, you've cross- posted your question into a group populated by people who consider themselves audio professionals, and no one here is going to trust a piece of software to combine several *critical* functions into a single pass. I cannot find in the manual how to compress the dinamic range and increase volume in Adobe Audition. Compression and peak limiting are needed to do this, but if you're dealing with pre-precorded music, the vast majority of it is already squashed to death and had few trainsients remaining. I thought you were looking for something that *would NOT* tamper with the dynamic range of the material? It appears, judging from the responses found in this lengthy crossposted thread, that MP3 Gain is going to be the tool to allow volumes to appear relatively equal... but it apparently does some lowering of gain rather than increasing in order to accomplish this without further altering of dynamic range. By "adaptive" I assume that you mean you're looking for software that learns from the application's continued use on selected program content, and this would NOT be a professional modus operendi. This also indicates that you are unwilling to simply use your ears and take the time necessary to make level adjustments on your own. Which in turn means that you really won't know exactly what the software is actually doing to the music... end result... further mangling of what is probably already mangled (in dynamic range) music. To accomplish the goal you seek, you need either to roll the dice on MP3 Gain, or resolve yourself to doing this is two or three passes, using your ears and listening to the results of what happens. Can Adobe Audition compress the dinamic range, increase volume and convert in a batch? My recommendation is to go back to the MP3 gain product, and simply rely on it's automated ability to write volume data into the header. I know of no other software (and only learned of MP3 Gain in this thread) that has the ability to eliminate the human factor, of which most professional software relies heavily. There exists the possibility of finding a recorder
program that will record anything whatsoever is played on your machine which means you most probably will have to buy a special recorder program then run both the a player and a recorder at the same time to make an mp3 file from anything at all but such a result might be considered illegal if you distribute any such converted files which are intended only for your own use. But as far as i am concerened you can use anything you pay for any way you want so long as it is only for yourself. The industry is trying desperately to rob all of us of our freedoms because of the minority who abuse freedom. This is the why wars are fought. To kill even innocent peoples to the point where the innocent will become the police. No such thing as freedom. Politicians are just blowing so much hot air or mean freedom of officials to wield power and little else. THE FCC has said in the past you can intercept any kind of cummunications you so desire and are capable of but you can not communicate to another living soul anything unless such a broadcast is intended for general dissemination. It takes a unusual person with their emotions and whatnot to keep secrets to themselves and there exists a kind of conflict in law that says the private person is only entitled to privacy and not secrecy if a private person keeps a secret totally and completely he is to be considered a criminal. Only the federal government is entitled by law to keep genuine secrets. At least in the USA. While the FCC expects you to keep a secret the law only allows for privacy which is something much less. Otherwise law enforcement can not uncover even serious infractions. I find it all silly and simply summed up means no such thing as freedom for private citizens in the USA Freedom is only for Government, Federal Government. If you want freedom get a high level security clearance and live on a government reservation all your life so local authorities can not touch you. Then you can do anything at all in secret and not care about what civilians think about what you are doing. They cant touch you. That too is like putting yourself in a prison of sorts. It all just makes me sick to think of what any society expects of anyone. Good luck and happy converting. wrote in message ups.com... Hello! Is there some reason why the wma plug-in is not updated along with regular CDex updates? I have no idea, Norman. Possibly because it oriented toward MP3? ______________ After all, dbpoweramp music converter wma stays up-to-date; they're now on wma9.1. I'd like to use CDex as my standard ripper, but I need VBR wma9. You can point CDex to any external encoder. Presumably you have an encoder for what you want? If not, get it here....(9.5MB for an *encoder*??????) http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...ncoder/9664936 74/1 -- dadiOH ____________________________ dadiOH's dandies v3.06... ....a help file of info about MP3s, recording from LP/cassette and tips & tricks on this and that. I want to compress a dynamic range, normalize and convert in one step as dbpoweramp converter with powerpack does. There's RMS normalization in Sound Forge which is what you're describing.
