Default not enough bass, would a seperate sub work with the setup i am using??

I am happy with every aspect of my hi-fi setup apart from a feel it
needs more bass especially for the really low down frequency stuff.

i have a pair of eltax symphony 6 floorstanders on spikes, with chord
company carnival cables with gold plated banana plugs , a rotel
rcd-855 cd player, marantz pm32 integrated amp, sony psx-lx55
turntable all connected with qed interconnects.

Odd system. 99 Euro speakers with 33 Euro speaker cables (approximate
prices).

This system was built up to a budget and im not expecting miracles but
would it be possible to use a seperate subwoofer to give that extra
bass, would i need to buy a sub the same make as the speakers so they
would work well together or would any make/model of sub do, im able to
pay around $150-$200 for the sub so any reccomendations would be
grateful.

Given the tiny 165 mm woofers, it seems like it would be difficult to NOT
give your speakers a little extra "ooompf" with a subwoofer.
