from Hurricane Isabelle approaching Washington, DC, the military
members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
were given permission to suspend the assignment.

They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!"

Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm,
they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the
highest honor that can be afforded to a serviceperson.

The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.

It all came to me in an E-mail, with no other mention other than the
bit about ABC, so there is nothing I could have attributed.

I was fairly certain that it would not assumed that I was the author,
and I thought the message was more important than researching who wrote
it. If you know, please let us all know.

I pretty much agree with this, except I would add that it sometimes
takes the actions of the later to cause the actions of the former.
