My "studio" is in my house basement, and the room is 25'x17'.
Everything fits in here pretty nicely. I have a (Roland) drum set in the middle of the room, desk and monitors at one long end of the room (facing a 17' wall across the room), guitars off to one side, outboard gear in a rack to the other. I just bought a vocal booth, and it's 6'x4'. Where would be the best placement for it in the room in terms of its presence having the least impact on what I hear from the monitors. I don't yet have bass traps in the 4 corners, that is coming next. I think the mixes are actually going well down here. I've relied a lot on Har Bal, and I must say, I've been happy with the results, all things considered. I monitor at low volumes (~80 db). Anyway, if I place the 6x4' booth in the back corner of the room, running along the long wall, it significantly "shortens" the distance from the monitor which faces it diagonally. I imagine this placement is significant enough that it would likely make the quicker reflections coming back from the one of the speakers confuse me during the mixing. Could I have some advice about the best placement for this booth in a room this size? Thank you. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
