Does any one know if the Tascam FW-1082 works with ProTools LE, as a
control surface only? I know it won't work as an I/O, I have a 002
Rack, but am looking for an inexpensive control surface $800, and this
prices at $600. If not does anyone know of such a control surface
$800?

The Tascam website claims that both the FW-1082 and the FW-1884 will
function as controllers for Pro Tools with HUI emulation or MIDI. You
might also try looking around for a Tascam US-2400. The product has
been discontinued, but dealers were blowing them out around $800 a few
months ago. You might be able to find someone with remaining stock, or
take your chances on eBay.

No more around. Boy did I miss out on that deal! That would have been
perfect. Now I have to settle for the 1082. Not a bad price, but I
would've spent the extra $200 for 16 more faders, and it's design for
what I need.

I guess my next question would be, is there anyone having issues with
that setup, in HUI emulation and running PT 6? Is the $400 difference
vs the Mackie Universal worth any headaches? Thanks!
