Default 002 in the house

Later that decade...

Okay, bought me an 002R. I'd been living with Nuendo 3. & a Lynx Two A card
which is nice. I do like the sound of it but Pro Tools is Pro Tools even if
it is LE, I figured I should learn it & besides that I do like recording in
it better than Nuendo. The edit window is easier for me. Nuendo jumps around
on me...my lack of chops for sure but still... The bus/aux thing in PT takes
a little getting used to, seems more involved than Nuendo but also a few
more options available. I'm routing the SPDIF i/os of the 002 into the the
Lynx so I'm using the Lynx converters. There is some latency here this way,
especially the return trip. I know it's SPDIF to SPDIF & shouldn't be any
but it's there - I hear it and even using a hardware mixer to monitor with
it, the playback sounds kind of off(when I monitor off the Lynx), not much
but a little so for overdubbing I'm just using the Lynx SPDIF in and the
analog outs of the 002, not the Lynx. Still trying to figure it all out.
Cool bringing home Mac PTHD mixes from a nice studio and opening them on my
PC pretty painlessly without having to import BC waves for days.

Anyway cool having both N & PT available on the same PC. Seems wrong though.
I'm still in the I think Nuendo mixing ITB sounds better than PT ITB but I'm
leaving my options open.

Hey is "low latency" in 002 supposed to kill the plugs while recording? I
thought it was but maybe not. I still hear 'em.

Thanks.
So is it cool to have plugs on the other channels while recording in low
latency mode...or will that affect things.?
