I have this SATO device, looks to be for turntable preamp/RIAA I would guess
and it needs a little repair work but I cant find info on it online - any ideas? SATO Industries Made in USA is the full name on the cylinder. Russell |

SATO Industries Made in USA is the full name on the cylinder. It's a pre-preamplifier. It supplies about 20 dB of gain to allow you to use a low output moving coil cartridge with preamp that has only a moving magnet input. It has no RIAA de-emphasis and it has a fairly low impedance input, lower than would be optimal for a MM cartridge. What makes you think it needs repair? --scott -- "C'est un Nagra.
