I recently took my DAW out of storage and am having sound problems. It
looks like the cable from the CD/DVD player became loose, and I'm not sure what it plugs into. Does it run to the motherboard or the soundcard (I have a Delta66)? I don't see any ports on the soundcard, and it doesn't seem to fit the supposed CD-ROM port on my ASUS P4PE motherboard. As a side note, Reason crashes on startup (it never used to). If I uninstall the Delta66, it runs. Obvious connection there, but I'm not sure why. Windows tells me the Delta66 is installed and running properly, and the drivers I've tried worked in the past. Any suggestions? Thanks. -- nick |

I don't see any ports on the soundcard, and it doesn't seem to fit the supposed CD-ROM port on my ASUS P4PE motherboard. In the olden days we used to make a direct audio connection from CD player to soundcard. Although the connector is still there on modern CD units iot isn't used. Everything goes down the digital connection. This is the ribbon cable from CD unit to motherboard. As a side note, Reason crashes on startup (it never used to). If I uninstall the Delta66, it runs. Get latest Delta drivers from http://www.midiman.net/index.php?do=support.drivers Re-install Reason as well. Any improvement? |
