I feel physical distaste spending time at the cesspool that is
submerging what began as an audio forum. But it is a necessity if it
is ever to return to its primary purpose.
The bigger Dr. Goebbels held that the less probable a lie
the more likely it is to be a success- because the public will say:
"They could not just make it up"
As applied to the web most readers bored with lengthy
arguments will say: "A plague on both their houses". That is exactly
what an innuendo- monger wants. Some of the dirt will stick to the
victim. The operating principle of the scandal weeklies such as
National Enquirer.
Which brings me to ScottW.

Littler Goebbels Modus Operandi:
Spew an unsupported slander-innuendo.. When pressed for evidence
clam up. Reappear with a new one or repeat the old one a few weeks
later counting on short memories.

No supporting evidence. Just the insinuation- "my target is insane"

unasked.".
"If thats the case...why did you so grossly misrepresent them?"

No evidence to support the innuendo. Scenario: the victim swallows the
bait, defends himself and ends up looking foolish and argumentative on
equal footing with the slanderer who
when cornered for evidence after a boring exchange that no one wants
to read just skulks away waiting for a better day:

ignorant they don't give up to go home and lick their

No,- they abandon the topic and while
running away mouth kindergarten insults-
puns on the name- and
grade 6 witticisms : "you have encephalopathy".

Then they wait for a better day to reemerge,
hoping that everyone forgot the last fiasco.
Because you can bet they will. They
can't help themselves

A few weeks ago when he thought I lived in the U.S. he was even more
hilarious

I pointed out that I left New York for Vancouver
Littler Goebbels is never at a loss:

Can't win against the Ministry of Truth. You stay you're an
"illegal". You leave- you're a fugitive from the earthly paradise.

I've been pondering
where people find the music you seek.
I find the local FM radio stuff is usually extremely
uninteresting. We have one independent FM
station that is mildly interesting KPRI but
I don't find it worth while. I find myself
more and more listening at work (and at home when
on the PC) to internet feeds.
I hope the day will come in my time when streaming
lossless audio on the net will available
What does he listen to:
There (on the internet..) I can find
a wide diversity from places like Aural Moon
where in a day I might hear a few classic prog
cuts from Crimson but also get to hear stuff
I would never find on FM, from artists like
Jerry Goodman, Annie Moses, Iona, The Box.

His problems.

The first time I got his attention was over the references to an old
issue of the defunct "Stereo Review"
It turned out that the only research he knew was in the web and he was
very upset with me when I suggested he acquaints himself with his
city's (San Diego) large Public Library. It was evident that was the
first it ever came to his attention.
"Two cultures" indeed.
Like many such semi-literates, who learnt to read to the level of the
local Sports Page and a scandal weekly like "Us" or the Nat. Enquirer
he resents people with different preferences and priorities:. the
"intelligenzia", the highbrows" of the fifties and the "nerds" of
today. He wants to pull them down a peg.
All that is in the best, egalitarian American tradition.
His malicious pertinacy though stands out.
Thankfully he found an outlet where he is an annoyance but a harmless
one.
Better than the Ministry of Propaganda. Ah, other times, other
chances.
