I'm just curious if anyone here has used the CAD C195 condenser, i
don't have the money for beta87s. Any opinions would be great. I'm
only asking because i have several other CAD mics. Please reply to my
email, i don't check the forums to often. In case my email isn't
showing up its jon.spam@tv. Just take off the spam off. thanks

Well, the first question here is to ask what you want to record....

Similar question he what about Samson microphones? I know they probably
don't qualify for "Pro" use, but still, any experience is welcome.

I bought 4 C15's to record a school musical and they turned out to be quite
noisy. Ok, what can you expect for 49 euro ex vat. But.... I also bought a
C05 for even less (45 euro ex vat) which turned out to be much quieter.

I know I would be better of with a couple of Sennheiser, but I cannot afford
four of them yet....

condenser,

I have about a half-dozen CAD C95s, the predecessor. Not bad.

i don't have the money for beta87s.

I don't see the question - CAD C195s are cardioids, while the Beat87s are
supercardiods.

This is like saying what's the comparison between apples and oranges.

Any opinions would be great.

Cheap supercardiods?

Cheap cardiods?

What is the question, again?

Of course, you know he's not going to see this since he doesn't check
the forums too often ...

Hi all,
The Bata 87-A is supercardioid. The 87-C is Cardioid.

Please immediately forward your correction to Shure Inc. so that they can
repair their web site:

This page is titled "Beta 87A Supercardiod Condensor Microphone".

Arny,

The Beta 87a is super-cardioid. The Beta 87 C IS a cardioid mic.
Some quotes from Shure, Inc:

"The Beta 87A has consistently been a top choice of performers and
audio technicians around the world due to its superb accuracy and
detail, and rich vocal production. This long-standing favorite now
incorporates a cardioid polar pattern and has been named the Beta 87C
TM" SNIP

"The uniform cardioid polar pattern of the Beta 87C ..."

these are from: http://www.shure.com/microphones/models/beta87c.asp

There wasn't much reason to get snippy with the guy when his info
could have been easily verified.

Actually, I owe him a big apology on the grounds that I simply misread his
post.

That should be obvious from my response, because in essence I agreed with
his facts, but my post is written so that it looks like I disputed them.
