mac software to change average dB level?
i am not a sound person so i don't really know what i am talking
about... but i was instructed to make sure that the average dB level fo a piece of audio (in aiff format) was at -12 dB. i am using a macintosh and am wondering if there is a piece of sofware which would allow me to figure out my current average dB level and alter the dB level to -12 if necessary. thank you for any input. i have audacity and bias peak currently, though i know how to use neither. but i am hoping one of these programs might do the trick. thank you again. |

mac software to change average dB level?
thank you for the reply.
however-the music is already recorded. what the deal is-i have a music video in two parts-the video and the sound. i am supposed to be giving the music video to a company and they have some specifications about the sound. one of their specifications for the sound is that "the audio have an average decibel level of -12 dB". their other specification is that the sound have a sampling rate of 48 khz. so i have an aiff file from the band (which is of course, 44 khz). i am the one dealing with getting the video ready for the company so i have this uncompressed sound file and i am trying to make sure the average decibel level is -12 dB and if not, fix this problem. the video will be mastered on to DVD by the company for use on i guess television. thank you. |
