These CD-Rs (from "FX") was not exposed to anything other than sitting
in my car-CD-changer (first picture). The dye started to decompose by
itself (first picture). And then when I just touched the CD lots of
dye/metall fell off (the other pictures). Just shows how important the
extra plastic layer on the label side is (both for CD-R and DVDs).

The COMPUSA branded cdr spindles flaked off just by slightly flexing or touching
the surface of them.
