Hello,

I'm having a major dilemma, between Bose AM10 and KEF KHT2005. I have
heard mixed messages about both Bose and KEF, goods and bads. However,
most of the positive feedbacks go to KEF. Honestly, a novice like me,
I can't really tell which one is better in terms of sound quality. But
I do like the appearance of Bose's AM10, compare to KEF's KHT2005.

I'm about to go buy the speakers next weekend. Can someone please,
please give some some final advices. My decision is still 50/50 as of
now, and hopefully this posting will help me decide better. Thanks in
advance.

The KEF are better sounding and visually smaller, due to the rounded
edges. THey also have built-in mounts, a huge plus over the Bose, as
even small mounts make the Bose look much larger.

But mostly - it's the sound.

Also consider the Tannoy mini-system or better yet, get a setup of
Tannoy R1 speakers. These are very good sounding and are now
on closeout as they are replacing them with an (IMO) inferior
product - for what appears to be marketing/profit reasons.

Bigger? Sure. About the best sound for the price and small size?

You don't mention it, so I will say it. Listen to the speakers before
you buy them! Base your decision on what sounds good to you, not what
others tell you sounds good. Take a handfull of your favorite CD's and
go down to the store and listen to them through the speakers you want
to buy. Since you have narrowed your selection down to two speakers,
your decision should be easier. After listening to your music for a while,
you should have a good idea of which sounds best to you. If by some
strange coincidence you still can't pick a favorite, buy the one that is
cheapest.
