Default Bose headphones

Any opinions on the Bose noise-cancelling headphones? The newer model
("QuietComfort 2"). They would be used primarily with a portable CD
player (on an airplane), but occasionally with a good home audio
system. They will also be used with a professional keyboard (Yamaha
P-250) while creating MIDI files.

Hey, the last time I asked a question here, I got flamed. Please
don't do it again; this is a genuine and simple question made before I
go out and spend $300 for a set of phones.

Best,

Bob

If it's Bose, it's overpriced.

$300???

Egads. I've seen noise reduction phones from Sony for $100 that
work better.

I hated them. For 300 bucks you can do so much better with AKG, or Grado. That
noise cancelation is amazinglu irritating. It's hard to describe but it would
make a fine torture device. It's more like shoving your fingers in your ears
than a natural quite.

Hey, this is rec.audio.opinion.

Audio advice can be given only if a reasonable question is asked.
Questions about Bose products are not considered reasonable.

Isn't it worth taling a few flames to save $300?
