Default Best mic for $100 - the definitive answer !

Maybe you cna fill 'em in on what's the best mic for $100 g.

Of course.

Now listen up here people, I'm only gonna say this ONCE !

THE Best Mic for $100 is, and has always been:

The Apocryphal vintage (tube?) large diaphragm, German (Austrian?)
(RCA?) condenser (ribbon) mic this guy you know (or his friend) picked
up at an estate (garage) sale (auction) from some guy (or his widow)
who thought it was broken when he (she) plugged it into his (some
friend's) Peavey (Ross) (VocalMaster) powered head and got no sound out
of it.

This mic is so rare that, even though everybody knows somebody who has
one, no-one has ever actually ever seen one. Having said that, it has
the cleanest, fattest, warmest, punchiest, most transparent sound that
always cuts right through the mix, and grabs you by the balls (or
whatever you get grabbed by if you have no balls).
The guy who knows the guy I know wouldn't take $4,000 for his.

Now that we're all up to speed, we can retire this thread forever. I"M
BEGGING YOU !!

Next week's topic: The Best Compressor for $100 !!
