Default Proton 550 Integrated Amplifier

I was just able to pick of one of these very cheaply. The problem is
that after I cleaned the volume and selector swiches and pots, the unit
has gone into the protect mode. Is there a fairly easy way to fix or
bypass this so that the unit may fire up properly and be usable. Also
does the large fuse on the left side possible have anything to do with
this. Also this looks like an amp which parrallelled the NAD power
envelope series and I was wondering if anyone might have more info. Any
help appreciated Thanks, Dan
