Default Problem with connecting Audio Cable to Amplifier

I have a question for anyone who has an input on the topic. I have 2 amps
that are exactly the same, and I just bought a pair of MTX Thunder 5500's. I
hooked everything up how i thought i should but there is one problem i am
having. Both of my amps only have an RCA input and no RCA out put. To
connect them i believe i would need 2 y-adapters, but trying it that way had
a strange effect on the subs, when they were connected to just one amp
through the Y-adapter, both subs would pound. One sub would pound really
hard and the other like a 6 X 9 speaker. Then moments later, it would do
exactly the opposite, and the other would pound really hard and the one that
was just pounding, would hit like a 6 X 9 speaker. I had this problem when i
connected both RCA cables through the y- adapters. To top this occurance off,
the subs would then both start to kick really hard, but moments later, would
kick off for a split second.

If anyone can explain why this is happening or has an idea i can try, please
respond.
