I'm using the motu with a pc lap top and Nuendo (previous post-"audio
nightmare...") and have finally gotten evrything working. I just tried one of the line inputs, and it's very confusing trying to control the level. The manual is confusing bordering on useless, but I see that you can switch gain on the cuemix console between -10,+_4 and boost....three choices. Is that the only way you can adjust the level? The 4 mic inputs have knobs that can be incrementally dialed up or down, but I don't see how you can do the same with the line inputs. Thanks Yarock |

I don't know the unit at all, but what you described sounds like what I would expect -- line inputs are probably fixed except to set nominal operating level. To me, a line input implies that the level is being controlled somewhere earlier in the chain... mixer, preamp, whatever. It's not necessarily the end of the world though. With the input range you get with 24 bit you can safely just set the nominal to wherever you don't get overs, and if it's too low you can just apply digital gain without worrying. -- "It CAN'T be too loud... some of the red lights aren't even on yet!" - Lorin David Schultz in the control room making even bad news sound good (Remove spamblock to reply) |
