www.alternatemode.com greg "Kent Dorfman" wrote in message ... Hi All, I'm a professional keyboardist with a small project studio and I do mostly jazz, pop, standards etc. IOW stuff that Reason, loops etc are not really good for because of the tempo changes, kits etc. So I am looking for a reasonably priced electronic drum kit that I can use to trigger samples from one of the sample based kits like DFH, or BFD etc. I HAVE done a little drumming, but mostly as a novelty where the band swapped instruments, but the drumming I need for my tunes is basic swing etc. So after years of pounding these things out on my keyboards with 2 fingers I am looking for an outboard rig that I can actually play. Last one I used was a Roland TD-7 I think? Seemed pretty expensive for what it offered but again I'm a keyboard player not a drummer ![]() So what would be a good BASIC setup for me and how do I go about setting up the pads to trigger sounds in say DFH or Garritan Big Band? Any and all advice or pointers to advice is appreciated!! -- Kent Dorfman Lounge Lizard keyboardist "par excellance" since 1973. Have I met you? |
