Calling my world "little" is one of the biggest insults I've ever had thrown at me. You know nothing about me and your odds are way out. No and neither did I..... I'm simply saying that by the virtue of you running a more *advanced* distribution, aimed at techno geeks your perspective is twisted as to what ordinary musicians, who could give a rats ass about compiling kernels, package managers etc expect. Strictly from a musician's standpoint (and lowly apprentice geek) the Linux applications seemed interesting, I looked at what was available a few months ago and honestly found it to be not up to the level I'm used to with Window's application, add to that the dismal hardware support and compatibility with other platforms and it's just not worth it for me. And I -like- to diddle with software/hardware and get things working. But it's just not ready for prime time, at least for what I'm doing. I'm still hopeful though. Ap |
