Hi,

I trying to decide between a Krell KCT and Levinson no.32 for a
preamp. Anyone out there with opinions either way.

No. (Just kidding). I have not heard either product, so can't comment
directly. That said, Krell gear that II have heard, various amplifiers and
their integrated amplifiers have alsways struck me as rather sterile and a
little on the bright side compared even to most other SS equipment I've
auditioned. I have frequently seen comments from others re. Krell equipment
that say the same thing. I have not had the oppounity to audition any Levinson
equipment, but it is a highly regarded brand. A lot of this depends on your
listening tastes.

Ideally, you should do a lengthy personal audition with each piece of
equipment, using LPs or CDs with which you are familiar, in your own home
system before making a choice. If this is not practical, at least try and get
return privileges if you are buying from a dealer. If you are considering a
purchase from eBay, Audiogon, etc. ask a lot of questions first and if you
decide to take a chance without a personal audtion first, try and get a good
price so that you can resell it if you are not happy after you hear it.

If you don't get any responses here from people who have heard these 2
preamplifiers, I would then recommend tha t you ask the same question in the
