Default Best noice-cancelling headphones $100?

Actually I am primarily looking for the best one that can meet these
criteria:

1) Work well with spoken audio, (i.e books on tape) I will not be using
these for music

2) Work well in airplanes and subways

Airplanes and subways are different. In an airplane, active noise cancellin,
as implemented by Koss and Bose, work well.

In a subway, active noise cancellation WILL NOT WORK. For this environment,
you need high isolation headphones. At the present time, there is only one
product that is really intended for this purpose:
