GNOME and KDE about Themselves (The Linux Cult In Action)

To anyone who is still unsure of which WM to use, these would be a valuable read. In the first item, there is plenty to impress the reader and OSS seems to be well ahead of any commercial, proprietary equivalent. It's a total waste of time and if you think Linux and OSS is ahead of commercial ventures you need to have your head examined by a competent doctor. Linux is so confused and fragmented it's actually starting to self implode. You "freedom of choice" boobs are actually doing more harm than good with 400 different versions of Linux and who the hell knows how many different desktop environments. Documentation scattered all over the place, much of it outdated and incorrect. Linux = ball of confusion. |

How long were you a moonie? To anyone who is still unsure of which WM to use, these would be a valuable read. In the first item, there is plenty to impress the reader and OSS seems to be well ahead of any commercial, proprietary equivalent. It's a total waste of time and if you think Linux and OSS is ahead of commercial ventures you need to have your head examined by a competent doctor. It depends on what the OP meant by 'well ahead'. Linux is so confused and fragmented it's actually starting to self implode. Give some examples. You "freedom of choice" boobs are actually doing more harm than good with 400 different versions of Linux and who the hell knows how many different desktop environments. How many viruses, worms and trojans are there infecting windows based machines? How many are there infecting Linux based machines? Documentation scattered all over the place, much of it outdated and incorrect. Linux = ball of confusion. Only to the easily confused. That seems to be you. -- Rick |
