Someone gave me an old ProLine 16 that needs some repairs. If it were
working OK, would it be a good mixer by today's standards? The pres, EQs, etc? Worth repairing? Thanks, Bill L |

Depends on which of today's standards? Behringer? Mackie? Neve? It also depends on what needs to be done to it. If it's a matter of noisy pots, just hook it up, listen to it, and don't worry about the noises when you turn the knobs. If you like it, get it fixed up as it annoys you (or not). If it doesn't work at all, check the obvious - power supplies are about the only thing that can cause a total failure and they're about the easiest thing on a mixer to fix or get fixed. Do you already have something that you might replace with this mixer when you get it working? Or are you asking for another reason? |

It's not working enough to test it. That's why I ws hoping someone could
evaluate the quality of the mixer so I can determine if it is even worth fixing. I would probably use it for live stuff, as a portable rig for club dates, etc. "Mike Rivers" wrote in message oups.com... Depends what you mean by Good. It's more solidly constructed than almost any today in the MI / home studio sector which is in its favour and something that's very rare. The electronics performs competently rather than class leading. Graham |

Use the DeoxIT products. They have products for every connection in a
studio and for that matter everywhere. Found this informative instruction booket on their site - Mentor Cards for DeoxIT products. Link: http://www.caig.com/pdf/MentorCards_2006_av.pdf Mike |
