Maybe I need to start hangin' here and extolling the virtues and
attributes of Bose.

Seems like I've been successful in running off most of the trolls,
misfits, and psychos out of alt.home.theater-misc, so I'll give it a
shot here. You really need my services here.

Seems like most of the misfits that post here talk about non-audio or
non-A/V products. You dick heads need to go somewhere else. I mean, do
you think Shrub even listens to an audiophool system?

Amar has installed multiple sets of 901' and Lifestyle 50 systems
throughout Shrub's and the VP's quarters as well as on the Air Force One
planes. So if it's good enough for our President it should sure as hell
be good enough for you!

A good place to start would be to tell us the measured performance of
Bose products: What are the frequency response curves? What digital
"tricks" does Bose do to get accurate sound from small boxs? What is
the maximum undistorted sound power level? What is the mean time
between failure. Etc.

I realise you choose the opinion forum, but you are allowed to present
facts here.

Cheese,
I've been praying for someone to replace Howard Ferstler.

Thank you for reaffirming my faith in the almighty.

My first request is -- I hope this doesn't sound too contradictory --
could you please try to antagonize both the tweakos, and sliderule jockeys,
while maintaining an allegedly self-consistent position? Keeps the number of
sockpuppets to the minimum.

It's nice to have a blimp to hover over us all.

FACTS:

1. Bose is the number one speaker brand in the world.

2. Bose sell more speakers than all the other speaker companies combined.

3. If Bose were bad, people would quit buying them. This has not happened.

4. Bose has more repeat customers than any other brand or company.

5. Therefore Bose is the best speaker.

Robert, you sound like my kind of person.

I really like ****ing off all the tweakos and misfits who take pleasure
in spending $25,000 on a set of speaker cables and yet cannot hear the
difference in a DBT test.

The agony of defeat probably drove Steve Zipster to an early grave, for
example. Poor little Yamaha integrated kicked big ol' Pass's ass!

The boy probably would have never been able to pick out Bose 901's from
Apogees in a truly blind ABT.

It's nice to be wanted.

Monsieur Looneyel,

From your email address, it appears you are just a french toadie.

Chirac is an even bigger asshole and if he were educated, he would be
able to speak the King's English, but he cannot as he is nothing more
than an ignorant french country bumpkin.

G.W. Bush is multilingual unlike your miserable excrement of a president.

Now, can you say "adios" to the group and just like go away unless you
have something relevant regarding audio to post?

Anyway, in this country we like to eat frogs, but I suspect you're all
asshole and no legs.

I'd like to see proof of that. They're not the biggest consumer electronics
company, and they have lots of very large competitors. When one says "all
other speaker companies combined", they are saying quite a lot.

3. If Bose were bad, people would quit buying them. This has not

I find it interesting that nowhere did you discuss sound quality, technical
performance, or value for money spent.

On balance, I've never said that Bose were the dregs of the earth and the
worst speaker known to man. It is also quite clear to me that some of their
products don't sound very good, especially given the price. Bose is
well-known for doing things that appeal to the mass market, that also
sharply compromise sound quality.

Mr Cheese, I bet you couldn't tell allot of difference in a level matched
DBT between a £4000 Bose system and a cheap £400 Sony rig.
So is the Bose system worth £3600 more?, if you think it is explain how it's
worth the extra amount. just like spending money on an overpriced and hyped
up speaker cable or interconnect with a fancy name stuck on it. If the
majority of the public fritter their money away on marketing hype and
designer names as your statistics prove then IMO this has become a very sad
world indeed.

Lets hope the future generations are blessed with more common sense.

Cheese,
A little sublety would go a long way here. The hardest thing to argue
against is something that is almost true. For example, if you were to say,
"Bose makes the best speakers in the under-$300 class", or "The Bose 901"
remains as remarkable today as when it was introduce 90 years ago", a rapid
rise in blood pressure would be perceptible among many of the denizens here.

Personally, I've always found it remarkable that Radio Shack purchased
manufacturing rights to one of the most remarkable tweeters in the world,
the Linaeum, and managed to bury it, partly by adhering to Bose construction
techniques in any version larger than 5 inches.
