i am setting up a 10 channel transformer isolation box to go between my buss feeds and the inputs of my gear and i am noticing that the output of the transformers has very diminished bass. it's not subtle and i am led to believe that maybe it is caused by improper interfacing/wiring? does anybody have an idea what the nature of this problem might be? (the transformer box is not backwards, already thought of that! lol ) the box is made of reichenbach RE11-FL transformers, i believe they are 1:1. it has a switch for each output to make 2 hot or 3 hot and i have tried both. my signal path is: unbalanced bus feed (unbalanced cable) transformer isolation box (balanced cable, 1=gnd, 2 hot, 3 cold) unbalanced input of gear i am totally stumped as this stuff is beyond the periphery of my understanding.. Don't know the specs on those transformers, but a low driving impedance as well as a high load impedance will minimize looses. greg |
