Default Ranch house options?

Hi,

I recently took the plunge, and I am moving from a cluttered downtown
apartment into an early 60s ranch style house... anyone who lives in
North America should be familliar with the layout of a ranch house -
L-shaped living / dining room, 3 bedrooms, etc. One feature mine has,
which they don't all have, is a fireplace on the wall that divides the
entrance from the living room. This wall is not useable for speakers.

I am trying to think of the best way to set up my living room, with
speaker placement taken into consideration... I have Tannoy Saturn S6's,
and I could use trial and error, but why re-invent the wheel - there's
literally millions of similar houses, and I'm sure someone has figured
out an optimal layout.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice, please forward them to me...
the only other furniture that will be in the room for sure, at this
point, is a couch, and a love seat.

Any shared experiences or advice is appreciated

thanks

Max

A diagram of the layout would be a good start. You might get more
meaningful reponses that way.

Hah yeah I suppose I am jumping the gun - I haven't moved in yet, but here
are some dimensions. Please be patient, as this is my first attempt at ASCII
art - I hope it comes out okay.

The living room is 18' x 13'6". and the dining room is about 9x9 - the fireplace
is on the right side of the drawing.

If you are thinking of gerg's Europas, I suggest you put them in the
fireplace and open the flue every time you play them.
