Default Need Buying Help

I recently purchased a house that has speakers in 3 rooms for a whole house
audio system. It is a very simple setup. 2 speakers ( L + R ) in each room
and all the wires come back to the living room. Each room has a very simple
analog volume control ( Russound ).

I'm looking for smart things to do with this without breaking the bank.
While I'd like to have multiroom multisource and wireless remote
capabilities, I don't know how much all this should cost and I'm not sure if
I'm willing to bite that much off.

Thanks,
Chris

Makes more sense to me to just have a seperate system in each room of
modest cost.
