Yea - call Lexicon and have them give you the phone# of that guy in
Boston that designed that old equipment. It can still be fixed (for a price) |

It can still be fixed (for a price) Jim Fabiano (http://www.jimfabiano.com) doesn't repair the Lexicon LXP-15's; he has a rather specific group of legacy products he repairs and has software upgrades for that's unfortunately not on the list. I am looking for a software upgrade for a PCM90 if anyone has one of those lying around somewhere (makes it useable with a Dual reverb Card.). The major gottcha is that the 16 position switch is not binary- it is Gray Code - try finding one of those in your RS or Farnell catalog. In desparation I resorted to using a 4 bit binary switch and a 16V8 GAL to translate (messy!) any further thoughts, anyone??? Use a 4-gang switch and some diodes? Gray code _used_ to be very common for encoders... I know there are a few of them left in the Digi-Key catalogue. It's a great idea and makes debouncing much simpler. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. One can always remove them from broken LXP-x units or the Alex and
Reflex. A cleaning will sometimes return normal operation. Consider using the MRC remote with these. It will program without a functioning rotary encoder. I got type 2 software eproms from Jim Fabiano for the LXP-15. Anyone with a programmer could take a type 2 eprom and copy it. Jim Williams Audio Upgrades |
