masterlink cd problem/ upgrade
this is my second cd player mechanism in a masterlink. first one started
rumbling and would vibrate the machine. this one has alot of read errors even on new cd's also i notice little nicks on some cd's that i take good care of. is it possible it is scratching the cd's? is it worth upgrading the cd mechanism yet again? are there any cd recorders better than the masterlink with comparable features/prices |

Your choice of DAW software, starting out as low as the Audacity freeware. |

I just replaced the cd drive in two VERY early rev. masterlinks
recently and had no problems. I used the current Liteon CD drive listed in the software history on the Aelsis website. I also ordered a new EPROM from Alesis. I have not checked my burns for error rate but the unit is cranking out disks with no problems that kick me in the face. I did have one issue with one of the disk trays not ejecting correctly but a coin taped on the bottom of the tray corrected it. Robert Morin |
