I want to get my dvd 5.1 output to my 5.1 speakers. The receiver doesn't
have any 5.1 input only 2 channel input. Is this possible? DVD player has 5.1 cable & optical output , receiver has 5.1 speaker output but no 5.1 cable/optical input only 2 channel input. Is it possible to get the dvd's 5.1 output routed thru and to the proper speakers going thru the receiver? |

However, if you only have a 2 channel receiver, that's all it is: 2 channels. Kal |

MSB probably still does mods to allow for such an input, but I doubt it's cost effective unless he's got a very expensive receiver. |

Sounds like you have an older A/V receiver that only does Dolby Pro Logic, so no, you can't use an analog 5.1 output nor the digital optical audio out with it. You can only the 2 channel stereo analog output, which will give you Dolby Surround with most DVDs, which your DPL decoder can handle. If you want to use the digital audio out for DD or DTS, then you need to get a new receiver. Gary E |Gary A.
