Can anyone give me a general overview of what is currently available
in the D-VHS VCR market? Please give me an idea of what makes offer what features, quality, and durability at a price range of $500-$1000. Thanks for your help. Regards, Arnold Holbrook |

How about a 200-hr TIVO with a lifetime sub ($400 on ebay, $600+ retail), plus any old VCR for archives? |

Here's a question for TIVO and TIVOesque owners, especially those who use it with cable systems. Does the TIVO impart any digital artifacts? I notice that with my HD based satellite system, I get some banding on occasion. However, I can't determine whether or not it's a function of the compression from the satellite or from compression used by the HD-based system, since it's never a "direct" signal. |
