Default PC recording playback and processing.

I have used logic in the past for all my pc recording. On my system if you
are using too many plug-ins or have too many tracks in playback before
mixdown I get alot of clipping. I recently used a pro-tools digi02 and
noticed that the studio had a ton of tracks in playback with unlimited plug
ins and didnt experience any poor system performance. Does this ability come
from the soundcard, the digi02 board, memory, or processor? I couldnt
believe the difference in performance. Any help is appreciated.

This 'ability'; comes down to mis-use of the other application and plugins
by the operator.

Thanks Geoff. I just wondered if better hardware made a significant
difference in playback ability on a pc. Can someone reccomend specs on a
good recording pc?
