I'm doing some Christmas shopping for myself, and I'm looking for a
pair of speakers to be my lone bedroom speakers, and I'm trying to keep it under $250. It seems like two speakers that get great reviews in that price range are the athena as-b1 and the paradigm atom. Best Buy has the athenas for $150, and my local dealer has the paradigms for $189--Do you guys have any opinions regarding these two speakers? later, jason |

It is for me, but if it's not for you, you can buy a sub to match.

Musical, not ruthlessly revealing (like, say B&W). My other speakers are Spendor SP 2/3s, and I find myself listening to music more in my BR. I sometimes think of replacing the Spendors with something in the Paradigm Reference Studio line. I've never heard athenas, but I'd much rather patronize my local Paradigm dealer than shop at Best Buy. No contest. How can you even hear what you're listening to at BB? |
