Get the remote control properly tested to determine if the fault is in
the remote sensing circuitry in the preamp, or is in the remote itself. If the remote is defective, then it can be opened and troubleshooted. If it needs propriotory parts, you can contact the Sony parts department to purchase the necessary parts. Most of the time, these remotes are considered disposable, they do not sell the parts, and they will tell you to buy new one only. If the fault is in the preamp, the tech can use a scope to trace through the remote data signal path from the sensor to the uPC. Many times the sensor module can go bad, a component along the path may have failed, or it may be a simple cold solder connection on the board. There are not always easy answers... Jerry Greenberg -- (sg) wrote in message . com... I have a Sony preamplifier, TA-E77ESD. I put new batteries in the remote control and it doesn't do anything. The batteries all work. No problem with the preamp and the remote did work a while back when I removed the batteries (not the same ones). Any ideas on a solution? Thanks for any info. |
