Ive got one of those Dvd/Stereo Combo systems with Speakers
connection. 5.1 the system supports DTS and Dolby.

I dont want to buy another set of speakers so i want to runt he TV
though the same speakers and my Combo system.

How would i go about doing this. The Tv has many Audio inputs and
video outputs. Would it be as simple as connecting a cable from audio
out on the Tv to one of the Audio ins on the Stereo. And if i did that
when ever i turn the Tv on would the sound come ot automaticly on the
Stereo and the speakers. And i could control the volume via the
volume controls via the stereo. And maybe some of the 5.1 preset sound
options Surround Sound ect.

/pS getting the TV tommorow and just would liek to know these things.
Dont mnd getting another set of speaker sfor the TV but if i dont need
them. Will stop the Clutter of speakers everywhere

To listen to analog sound, get a TV with L/R stereo analog line level
outs and hook those outs to the Home Theater in a Box (HTB) unit using
an available line level input, like TV/Sat. You will be limited to
any stereo signal processing modes on the HTB, like Dolby Pro Logic.

Dolby Digital and DTS are digital audio formats that can't be obtained
from analog stereo outs from a TV. Digital TV broadcasts can have DD,
but not DTS, sound. You can receive digital TV with a digital TV over
the air tuner (which can also normally get high def TV (HDTV)), some
cable boxes and some satellite boxes. There are now digital TVs that
have built in digital over the air tuners. Many are HDTVs.

Some TVs have variable analog outs that can be controlled with the TV
remote, so if you had one of those, the volume would be controlled by
both the TV remote and the HTB remote.
