I apologizefor posting this message to the wrong NG earlier in the
week. I found the FAQ and hopefully I am posting this message to the
correct group.

Does anyone have any recommendations for installers in the Austin (TX)
area? I had MobileOne do my last install in Houston; however, I have
had to go back and do everything the way I wanted and fix some of
their screw-ups. Needless to say I am now a little more wary of these
installers. Would it be worth my time to just do it myself?

My current setup in a 2002 1500 Silverado (extended cab) consists of
an Alpine CDM-7874 headunit with 2 RockFos He2 10" subs under the rear
seat powered by a RockFos Punch 500S 2-channel amp. All other
speakers are stock (6.5" component in front doors and 4"x6"s in rear
doors).

I'd like to replace the rest of the speakers, but need some help on
where/what I should begin looking at. I have visited 4 places in town
just to get an idea of what is out there and they have recommended
either the Infinity 6010CS (6.5" component) and 6412CFP (4"x6" w/
tweeter) or the Boston S60 (6.5" component) and S75 (4"x6"). These
seem to be good choices, but I'd like to hear practical (everyday use)
comments from those who have them if possible. My price range is
semi-flexible right now. I'd rather not go for the most high-end,
rather something more middle-toward-upper end would be fine.

For now I would probably just replace the speakers, then in a few
months (once I have regenerated the bank acct) get a 4-channel
amplifier to power them (components and 4"x6"s). I assume I wouldn't
need anything huge, maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 watts x
4 channels. Any rec's on a good amplifier for this job?
