Default Help with Speakers.

Hi,
Jsut need a little advise.
I have jsut been gven a sterio for my birthday,
an Aiwa CDC-R504MP
my problem is the sounds gets very distorted when you turn it up even
just a little bit.

The problem is teh speakers - I dont think they can handle the power
from this,
can anyone recoment some low prioced speakers (the ones in there are
10cm) that will allow me to listen to the sterio and produce decent
sound. (I am working on a very tight budget)

I might get flamed, but I have a "Po' boy" system myself (other than my head
unit) and I've found that Wal-Mart has some decent speakers for very
reasonable prices. I've got my fronts, rears, amp and subs there and they
all work great. Now, I'm no audiophile like a lot of these guys are, but my
system sounds good and gives me everything I need and is within my budget. I
would love to be able to afford some of the stuff I read about here, but for
now I have to get it one piece at a time. The only expensive component I
have is my Rockford RAV-DVD2 head unit and I was ALMOST regretting that
since it took me forever to get it sounding the way I wanted it too. Anyway,
check Wally world and see if they have something in your price range. If
they pop when you turn them up, try to see if your HU has a HPF or LPF
setting on it, otherwise you might have to get a bass-blocker for about 8$
to keep the low frequencies out.
Just my .02, YMMV.
