I've read about a year of archived posts and did not see this subject
discussed.

Anyone familiar with the Sony STR-DA2000ES receiver? I think it is a
2003 model, and have heard "rumors" of a product recall in 2004. Is
it safe to purchase this receiver now? The price has dropped to well
under the $500 USD mark, which is great for a 110w 7.1 ES receiver.

Any comments?

While I am here, how about pros/cons on the Sony SCD-C2000ES SACD
changer? It, too, seems to be reasonably priced.
