Does anybody have a source low cost elastic bands used on shock mounts for
large diaphragm mics? I need a replacement elastic band for a U87 shock
mount but the one Neumann is very expensive. I do not require the real
Neumann bands...

I just buy fabric covered elastic cord and crimps from the local fabric
store up the street. You could always tie a knot instead of using the
crimps though. You can also use those elastic pony tail holders if you
can find them large enough...or rubber bands...or even large o-rings.

Go to a fabric store and ask for elastic cord. Most
likely they will have various sizes and colors. I redid
my 87 shockmount and it cost about $2.
