I'm almost finished restoring this 1951 Philco 14" TV. Everything was
working well with razor sharp focus until I took apart the focus assembly to clean out all the gummed up grease. Now the picture is hopelessly out of focus no matter how the focus and ion trap are set. I've gone back and checked everything in the focus assembly and can't find any problems. The magnets only fit in one way and everything looks the same as in a picture I took before disassembly. Here's a picture of the CRT neck showing the type of focus magnet used. It uses 3 permanent magnets which appear to be alnico. http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/att...id=32575&stc=1 Andy Cuffe -- Use this address until 12/31/2005 -- Use this address after 12/31/2005 |
