Still trying to work out why my Clarion head unit is overheating... It
has correct voltage (at least 13 volts when the engine is off), the OHM's to the speakers are correct... There's nothing much else I can figure out... But I could leave that to the original thread above/below... But I'll ask two separate things here... The radio wiring harness, has an inline 15AMP Fuse. However this goes through the cars wiring, and the fuse block on the car has a 10 AMP fuse for the audio circuit. Could this be causing an issue? The other thought, I've heard about using different wires, and using a wire direct from Battery to radio. Given that Im getting at least 13 volts, is a new wire I should concern myself with, or is the idea of a new wire supposed to deal with something else, like amps/wattage/ohm??? I dunno, Im guessing here... And I've read references to using 4ga or 8ga wire... what does ga mean in this context? Thanks SImon |
