Default My Gec 30w Prototype problem, smoke !

Hello everybody,

The important hour has come for me to turn on my first try to build an
amp.. For those that remember, i'm in a 6sn7, kt88 project. Namely the
Gec 30w.

I built things slowly last week and this we i have time to begin the
testing.

You can see the electronic diagram on this page :
http://personales.ya.com/lcardaba/projects/GEC/GEC.htm
(sorry it is in spanish, but no matters for the diagram)

I have a problem :
When i turn it on the output transformer vibrates and the output dummy
load (10R) heats quickly == turn off

If i disconnect c6 and c7 (the signal capacitors of the kt88),
everything is ok.

I measure :
HT 374

Bias of the kt88 = 31v

on the grid 0.015v

outside of the second 6sn7 : 197 and 194V

I only have a voltmeter and everything is around what is written on the
diagram.

But if i plug in the signal capacitors it goes up (i don't have time to
measure, because i don't want to fry the output transformer.

I don't have plugged the GFB yet, maybe i need to plug it or put
something in place of it ?

Yesterday i smoked a resistor...;i use a 22k to unload the power
capacitors) that i forgot to remove == smoke !

I hope i won't break something more expensive ;-(

Also i used 1.6A fuse that proved to be too small (burned 2); now i use
2.5A, is it too much ?

I wait your advices, and i'm ready to desribe, measure,... to try to
find the error.

Thank you,
Best regards,
Luc D.
