Hello all
I just got a Pioneer DEH-P3600MP and connected it up into my Volkswagen Transporter (2000). All seemed straight forward: just remove old unit and put new one in using same wiring (power and speakers) as before. Now the trouble is everytime I turn engine off (and remove the key) the unit loses its settings (equaliser, Fader-Balance settings) and restart reading the CD from the beginning. There don't seem to be an ACC position on the VW key pad. When I turn engine off (all the way) the system continues playing. It shuts off when I physically remove the key. The old unit (a not-very-advanced Blaupunkt I think) was always on (with or without key) and I had to think of turning it off. I assume there's a connection problem. The Pioneer user manual is quite vague. There's a note about that "in some case" ACC Switched DC and Constant DC should be switched. I haven't done that yet because this problem might be something 25,000 people have been through already and the problem is somewhere else. Any hints or solution here? Thanks, Jerome |

I think if you just run the power lead to the battery's positive post that should solve
the problem. Clearly the HU is not getting any power when the key is taken out (which is really weird) so running that wire to the battery itself should solve the problem. -- Todd |

If you purchased a wiring harness to adapt to the factory wiring, alot of
times on Volkswagen harness, the 12v Constant (yellow) and the 12v switched (red) wires are reversed. So either test the wires to verify this, or reverse the wires and see if that does it.
