Hey guys. I'm going to be buying two Infinty Reference 1032w 10" subs
and installing them in a sealed box. Infinity's webpage recommends a box size of 0.75 ft^3 for a single woofer. How big should I build the box for two woofers is my question??? Thanks =) |

For two subs in a simple sealed enclosure, you just double the
recommended volume, for a total of 1.5 cubic feet. You don't have to give each sub its own sealed partition, but you might want to anyway, since a dividing wall separating the two subs will add a lot of structural strength to the box. Just don't forget to take the volume of the dividing wall (and any other internal bracing) into account when you build the box. Normally, you would also have to take into account the volume that each sub displaces inside the box, but Infinity has already done that for you with their 0.75 ft^3 per driver recommendation. Make sure you build the box out of something stout. 3/4" MDF would be more than adequate. As for internal braces, cube-shaped blocks of wood glued into all of the inside corners are very effective.
