![]() I had an 83 camaro, and an 87 Z28. I tried, 8",10",12",15" subs in both vechiles. In the end, i used 8" subs on the little hump directly behind the back seat, but not the deep portion of the trunk (i hope you can visually see what i am talking about). I dont know much about the technical mubo-jumbo of car audio, but after trying 1000 different setups, if you put 2 - 8" GOOD QUALITITY subs on that back hump, pointing straight up... it sounds better then all other sizes of subs. I think it has to do with the shape of the car, and the wave lengths different size of subs make, but in the end.... the 8" subs were the loudest, and i used a SQ sub, so they sounded gorgeous all at the sametime. AND, the amp neeeded for 8" subs was cheaper....box was smaller, still had trunk space, box/subs/amp didnt weigh down my car so my car didnt loose to much speed (305...you gotta keep as much speed as possible with those slow engines). So i highly reccomand 2 - 8" subs in a sealed enclosure, box made to specs for SPL. Try 8" IDQ, or 8" JL... i used the 8" Boston's (rally series at that time....not sure if that line is still around) People would sit in my car and just be amazed that my 8" subs sounded better then there 12" w6's Feel free to flame me all you want!....but i spent alot of money and time trying out all sorts of different sub enclosures/sizes in camaros for a good 7 years.... this is only from my expereince. I never did try 18" though.... On 22 May 2004 07:06:40 -0700, (Joe Carr) wrote: I was wondering if anyone had some plans for an 88 camaro for 2 12's with about 1.25 cubic per sub. I have made some plans but I just wanted to check them with someone elses just to see if there was anything else I should do. You can email it to me at |
