Hi-
I have a 2000 VW Jetta that wants a new head unit. Also have an iPod (3rd generation) I want to use in the car. Trying to decide between a Alpine CDA-9830 or CDA-9831, (and add the iPod adapter when they are available) and a Kenwood KDC-X579, with an Ice Link adapter. The prices from Crutchfield, plus the iPod adapters look like they will be in the same ball park. Alpine has an iPod adapter in the works, a point in their favor. I would prefer for the radio to be Sirius and HD radio ready, in case I want to add them later. This will favor the Kenwood radio. Does anyone have experience with the Ice Link adapter? I was wondering how it controls the iPod. Can it switch between playlists? Any other factors to consider? Thanks for the help, Mike |
